Human Capital for Sustainable Economies
» Placing p e o p l e at the heart of sustainability
In changing global scenario, where more and more consumers are
demanding environmental friendly products, where governments are
passing stringent regulation to protect the nature and terms
such as global warming, corporate social responsibility and
sustainable development are dominating board rooms of many major
companies, it is imperative to green the most important asset of
any organisation – the human capital.
The ecologization of tangible assets – Buildings, Machineries,
Computers….- is in many organisations a key subject. However,
the issue of developing competencies needed for new economy –
the sustainable economy is not quite often on the current
agenda. Whether ecological production processes, product
innovation or other measures to green corporations, the
intangible and most powerful asset – the human capital needs to
be in the centre of sustainability strategies.

3 Day International Greening Education Event (IGEE 2011) will be held from 27th to 29th of October 2010 in Karlsruhe, Germany.
