Sustainability Balanced Scorecard

International Greening Education Event is an exciting event that helps in getting attention of many practitioners around the world on the issue of greening education. Many ideas and innovative approaches have been discussed since the launch of greening education initiative in 2009. Information exchange is taking place, research projects have been initiated, several green events were organised in various countries and a range of educational insitutions have taken effective steps to embed sustainabiltiy in various courses and programs.

As we proceed on this challenging journey to green education, Etech Germany is initiating a debate on developing Sustainability Balanced Scorecard for Education Institutions.

Background
As you know, the concept of Balanced Scorecard is not new. It has been used in corporate sector for a long time. A large number of organisations world-wide use Balanced Scorecard to support implementation of corporate strategies, effectively communicate their vision and measure performance. And the Sustainability Balanced Scorecard has been a common tool to incorporate all three pillars of sustainability (economic, environment and social) in to the overall corporate plans. It has been used to balance long-term and short-term actions and for translating strategies in to actions.
